もうすぐただいま!

We were almost decided to stay.

Kochi had proven to be what we wanted as a break from what we had been doing, and the alternative lifestyle that we wanted. It was the inaka that we did not grow up with, and it turned out to be the inaka that we fell in love with. It was a place that we could possibly stay a long time for~

But I halted in my tracks and revisited our purpose in coming here:

1) A break, and
2) An alternative

6 months down this change, we have done quite a bit, and we still have quite a bit to do which could possibly be fulfilled in the next 6 months. If we stay, it'd be like an extended holiday. One that could turn the tables on us. Syndromes would include stagnancy, boredom and routine. We wouldn't want to end up puking in the middle of the night again after a LONG holiday just like the one we took earlier this year.

Ultimately, we don't want to stay simply because we don't want to go home. And we don't want to get tired of Kochi. We want to remember it as the place where we spent many of our 'firsts': 1st year of marriage, 1st wedding anniversary, my 1st car accident, many baking and cooking firsts, etc.

So, we are going home in August for good. We can do better family planning; if we still find the need to seek an alternative to our jobs and lifestyles, we can still do so; and most importantly, we can go back to serving God better in His church. The options in going home are wider.

もうすぐただいま! (Soon I will be home!)
